Help on correct sub cable connection
« on: June 26, 2011, 15:17 »
Hi

I have just added another sub to my HT system.  I am not sure though which one below is the correct way to connect the 2nd sub and appreciate advise on this.

1) Connect the mono rca cable from the AVR to the 1st sub.  Use another mono cable to connect  either the left or right rca  output of the 1st sub to the left or right input of the 2nd sub.

or

2) Connect the mono rca cable from the AVR with the Y cable adapter at the other end. Connect one side of the Y cable to the input of the 1st sub and another side of the Y cable to the input of the 2nd sub.

Thanks.

I would say either is fine...but if you ever upgrade yr pro to dual sub x.2 support then you can do the rca's both back to the pro
I have a pile of stuff that pushes out squiggly waveforms from smaller squiggly waveforms that sometimes come from 1's and 0's.
It's wonderful to behold as long as you don't let the magic smoke out.

Life is short! Enjoy the music while it plays, when it stops, there might be a chair for you...or  maybe not.
