Demagnetizing CD
« on: October 01, 2019, 15:17 »
Can advise what kind of demagnetizing CDs available here in Singapore (preferrably @Adelphi) for immediate purchase?

What are your experiences?

Do they really work?

How often do you use them?

Thanks!

I use Walker Audio Talisman. No need for power supply and easy to use.

Yes it worked very well. Audible difference before and after demagnetizing the CDs. My experience is the soundstage widened up, slightly focus, bass is tighter and more dynamic.

I don’t have golden ears so normally subtle changes I cannot pick up but talisman demagnetizer was an exception.

Normally I’m too lazy to use it even though the ritual is simple. Unless I seriously want to pay close attention to the music or prove to Hifi kakis the instant magic this little magnetic bar can do.

Not actually demagnetizing,  ;D but can find in most departmental store and some good DIY store. Duo beam work better than single beam but very important use only nor heat mode. Apply to 2 side better than one side. Works on vinyl too.

You mean like you play to demagnetise your audio path? Densen used to make one, not seen in a long time

Lots of conjecture on its use and effectiveness as usual for these kind of things hehehe

I have a pile of stuff that pushes out squiggly waveforms from smaller squiggly waveforms that sometimes come from 1's and 0's.
It's wonderful to behold as long as you don't let the magic smoke out.

Life is short! Enjoy the music while it plays, when it stops, there might be a chair for you...or  maybe not.

Got a copy of the denson cd from a local collector.

It works.

Even though I've already ran the xlo disc earlier in the same week.

Returned my system to an unburnt-in state of sound
