Please don't say that; IMO there is no limit in this hobby, be it a few hundreds or ten of a thousands, each and everyone has their own preference and taste in searching and selecting their best combination of components to set up an ideal system for their listening pleasure....

I believe Edwin will give you some discounts off the quoted price.

I actually spoken to Edwin yesterday afternoon and he mentioned that he can give a slight discount over the quoted price if I firmed the order.

Will be attending the Tokyo show next Tuesday, should have the chance to listen to the A-200 again and see whether this will provide me the  extra "push" to proceed with the purchase.....

Thanks. I have already consider this, the difference of more than S$10k in pricing delivered to Singapore (including GST) probably is the deciding factor if I proceed to buy overseas.

indeed its alot of difference for a pair, and we're talking about $20k difference. Have you checked what will the shipping charges be like to get them shipped in?
From your previous post I'm assuming you buying from Japan directly?

Will checked with our company staff on this once I firm my decision (we are port operators, should not be a problem getting a reasonable price from the freight forwarders)

Accuphase DC37
...

I just checked out the spec... Very interesting!

The architecture of this DAC is similar to the Phasure NOS-1 DAC and the Trinity DAC… using digitally oversampled input stage on the incoming digital stream to achieve an FIR filter (in this case 8 times oversampling), and using an off-the-shelf DAC chip for conversion (ESS instead of BB PCM chips in this case). They don't elaborate on the output stage though...

Still, should sound pretty darn good I'm guessing!  :)

I am lucky to have a chance to listen to accuphase e-460 recently.

This is in comparison with Marantz pm11s3.

Both units are built like tank and the build quality is top notch. Accuphase golden color with the meters looks glamorous.

For the SQ, E-460 able to provide fuller sound and bring forward the sound presentation as compared to PM11S3 on usher Dance 2. In my listening, the songs sound to have more "body".

Marantz PM11s3 is no slouch too. The high range is very sweet to listen to.

In general, I prefer accuphase E-460 as compared to PM11s3.

Whether the price premium (accuphase almost 2x the price) justify the advantage? I will say yes.

Marantz is priced very competitively here as compared to accuphase which is marked up quite high

A search on price.com.hk:
PM11S3 HK$35950
E-460 HK$43000
E-470 HK$48000
E-370 HK$38300 (more comparable to PM11S3 as the power rating is 100w/channel)
