Another thing I like is that their capsules are much bigger than those of Nespresso and other alternatives.... more coffee powder and better bang for bucks. Good for me as I like a full glass of coffee instead of the teensy weensy cups for other coffee makers.  :)

When it comes to coffee, size matters. I can't stand e small expressos. No kick for me and my wife. So even when I put an expresso capsule into my Citiz, I will press e button for BIG cup and then.... (ahem) press e SMALL cup button. I know I know... It's wrong but sue me. I need a bigger cuppa!

HAHA... how did that taste when you pour the milk powder raw?

That was why i was suspicious when told that the machine is UK made. The manual screamed Made in China.

Taste like coffee latte to me.. but then my taste buds are not too discerning so can't tell the difference between good latte and poor latte and doesn't really matter to me as long as I get a cuppa joe in the end.

I think if I were to buy refills later on, I would not get those with milk capsules as there are only 8 servings instead of 16 for those without milk capsules for the same price.

I know what you mean: we used to press the lungo (110ml) button regardless of what kind of capsule we were using.  Later, we figured that two rounds on espresso size (i.e. 40ml x2) works well as a compromise.

Very occasionally, if having a leisurely afternoon cuppa, we get a bit purist and have proper espresso-sized portions.  In tiny espresso cups.

They are both by Nestle. Apart from the variety of capsules and the flexibility of use, the quality of the coffee should be similar you think.

O really  :o. But over e weekend I did try drinking e expresso e right way. Though nice, it was not shiok. I prefer volume haha. Frankly, drinking it with e BIG-SMALL comby is not bad for me. I will stick to this Haha

PS - during my recent HK trip, I visited e Nespresso boutique and my bro-in-law was curious so I got one of e sales staff to let him try an Indriya, my fave. He said it was nice but what's e deal with e small cup? Haha

I am assuming you didn't open up an unused coffee capsule. Is it because the coffee grinds have been compressed by the pressure to half the capsule size after use? How about the Nespresso capsules? Is it also half full when opened after use?  :)

Ah thanks... I will try this comby and see. The gal at e HK boutique did tell me it is not advisable to press lungo for expresso but if I really want to then add hot water separately... In my mind I was thinking - that's so troublesome

There's a membrane layer that keeps the capsules on one side but allows water to pass through.

Let me give you all some neat trick.

Add nutella to your nespresso. You will get a nice hazel nut favour.

If you like those iced coffee, go get the favour syrup from Cold Storage. It makes it even more wonderful.
