Seems I can only get the pptp working on my iPad and iPhone but not my mbp ... Very strange...as that's where I need it the most can authenticate and connect but no browsing
I have a pile of stuff that pushes out squiggly waveforms from smaller squiggly waveforms that sometimes come from 1's and 0's.

as I understand from the CS agent, you can only connect 1 device to the VPN service at any one time. if you try to connect 2 or more devices at the same time, you will be allowed to authenticate and connect but you won't be allowed to surf.

Yes I know all that...something not right, will maybe try on my mm server or mm and see how that works

I think I'f I go the router route maybe I will need 2 accounts if I still want to use from Teheran iPad/phone as can't use open from those clients

I'm a network specialist so I do know about this stuff, but even changes hosts and still a problem.

Not sure if helpful but my provider told me this

say you want to access http://www.pandora.com or http://www.hulu.com/ then this type of sevice allows there site to think you are in the USA or UK ... thus allowing you to use their services...

It also alows for anonymous surfing too :D

Im just trying to get the best plan, but I think it looks like the $55 4 cities PPTP for now

Does StrongVPN works on Amazon MP3 and Kindle? Tried a few VPN always says I outside USA.   >:( Guess it's Amazon Source/Destination check. Anyway to bypass it?

Wonder those with Kindle whick VPN service are your using?

hi guys, I'm looking to reactivate my VPN subscription and considering using StrongVPN again. are there any better/ cheaper alternatives that you might know of?

also I'm intending to use my VPN account on my PS3 and WDTV Live Media player. for that to happen, i think i need to change my current CISCO DPC3925 router that comes with my Starhub 100mbps plan. any suggestions on what is a good & cheap replacement that will allow me to do the above?

thanks for the input bros :)

I’ve found StrongVPN to be a pretty good all round option actually... especially if you want the flexibility of connecting various devices at home to the VPN, and others not.

StrongVPN supports both PPTP and OpenVPN, there are routers you can buy off-the-shelf that support these VPN protocols, but an easy route is someone like http://www.sabaitechnology.com who have ready-flashed routers with firm to support StrongVPN (they use an updated Linux based TomatoUSB firmware).

Assuming you’re sticking with StartHub, you can’t remove the Cisco DPC3925 as it’s both the WiFi router and the DOCSIS cable modem combined into one unit…. but you can always stick the VPN router to one of the client ports of DPC of course -- you’ll incur double NAT, but the VPN tunnel won’t care much. The added advantage of something like the Sabai routers is that you can configure on the router which client device’s traffic gets routed over the VPN and which doesn’t, very flexible.

If you wanna go cheaper and you're adventurous, you could use another open source VPN router firmware, from http://www.dd-wrt.com/; they’ve got a HUGE database of supported routers, and then go pick up an appropriate router off eBay.

Hope this helps  :)
You'll never get to heaven with a smile on your face from me.
