A friend of mine using the ATC SCM-12 mid-bass drivers+Seas Millenium tweeters to diy his ATC based on the SCM-20.Exotic components  are employed into the crossover and the sensitivity of the tweeter is then tailored to match the mud-bass.
As I was told the performence of the  finished loudspeakers is surpasing the original.[/img]

Calling NAIM NAP250.2 owners with experience driving ATC SCM19 v2.

Thoughts on this combination and the 80W power from the NAP250.2.  Is this too little power to drive these speakers optimally?

My kit is NDX.282.HiCapDR.NAPSC.250.2.  Would like to hear from similar users????

I used to run the SCM19v1 with the 250.2. It’s barely enough and the amp was struggling at higher volumes. In fact I’ve pushed it to thermal shutdown quite a few times.

I would recommend at least a 300 non-DR version to drive it.

I am using ATC 19 v2 driven by the Denon AVC-X8500H. I read that the v2 is easier to drive than the v1. My experience is that the Denon drove it to loud volume with control, speed and finesse when watching movies. In 2 channels musics  it is an easy load for the amp. But I do offload the bass from 80hz below to my sub, and the 150w per channel driven at 2 channels help. I will be replacing the 19 with the 40 and move the 19 as surround duties, when that occurs I might explore adding external amp.

I’m looking seriously at v2 of the  SCM40s v 19s. My listening area is 5m x 15m and I want to combine home theatre and HiFi in the one speaker by including a matching centre speaker and sub.

Simonc,
If you plan to use the ATC speakers to serve as 2 channels and multi-channels duty, you should consider the ATC center channel for tonality matching.
I have an ATC C3C v.3 center channel to sell if you are interested. PMed you.
