Blu-Ray Disc operation
romeo tango:
Hi All,
Can't find a place to post this, hopefully this is the correct place.
I have 2 BD (GI Joe and Spy Next Door), which when I insert the disc into the player, it will have a message saying that there is something that can be download and request to plug in a thumb drive with at least 1GB free space, eject and re-load the disc again.
Anyone has come across this ?
And where is the purpose ? When I check the thumb drive, there is nothing in it.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Err, no one encounter this before ?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Bro
When you ask for help, provide info:
- what player, what profile is it?
If you have BD-Live enabled, it will try and download stuff off the net, and you will need an internet connection.
Look up BD-live for more info.
Cheers

'Profile' refers to the generation of Blu-ray technology. There are v1.0, v.2.0 etc - the newer the generation, the more features it can handle, and some of these newer features require external or internal storage to store downloaded content.
Given that your player is trying to download something, it's likely that BD-Live is on. Frankly, most of this downloadable content is nonsense, so if I were you I'd just turn off BD-Live. Then you shouldn't get such prompts anymore.
You should also ensure that your BD player is upgraded to the latest firmware. Is your player connected to Internet at all, i.e. via ethernet cable?
