A friend told me to check out the Logitech harmony smart control hub. Can do IR and RF , works with Alexa or Google.

Is there a locally available inexpensive way to integrate the Echo Dot with an IR blaster to on/off/control Fan/Aircond/TV?

I recommend Logitech harmony home. Echo and harmony work perfectly with each other. I’m using that to automate my HT, aircon, HTPC, lights, sockets etc.
Electronics : Denon 7200, MiniDSP Dirac 88A, Emotiva XPA-5 Gen2
ATMOS Audio : Martin Logan Ethos (L&R), ML Motif X(C), ML Motion 4 (14pcs surround spkrs)
LFE : Dual Rythmik FV25HP & Crowson Motion Actuator
Video : Sony VPL-HW55ES, Stewart Screen Studiotek 1.3
Source : HTPC
Fully automated HT via Alexa, Z-wave and Logitech Harmony Remote Control

I got myself the Broadlink RM mini3. Noticed a weird behaviour- the device loses the WiFi pairing intermittently (average once in 2 days). Anyone has similar experience? If yes, any recommended solution?

My current workaround is to re-pair the WiFi using the app. A bit leh ceh.

** The Mini3 is about 3m away from the WiFi AC1200+ router in the same room, so signal strength should not be an issue.

Made the following config changes to the Asus router 2.4GHz WiFi, and it seems stable:
a) Group Key Rotation Interval = 0
b) Control Channel = #  (not Auto)

Thought I'd share.

Wondering if my Echo is "listening" and recording my hifi also. ;D

If you log on your account, you can listen to the conversation recorded.

Quite a lot are recorded even when the wake work was not used.

I can hear my TV or my family members talking.

Wow! Great for suspicious wives who listen to their husbands' conversations with another woman. Alexa is listening... ;D

Just FYI, some Alexa enabled items will not work in SG.. eg the Bose 500 Home speaker is Alexa enabled, but once it realises you are in SG, it's gone..

Alexa has more Skills than Google Assistant, and the list is still expanding. I also find that Alexa is more responsive..
