Unipivot is always tricky. Don't you have the manuals to guide you?

a friend of mine had one of these and it was badly put together where the arm was too far back in the cavity to allow the arm to come down past horizontal. But managed to fix that.

There was no oil supplied but one other TT guru suggested using none as the humidity here is very high and it affects the viscosity or something like that...

I dont think he has it setup yet, but you can try different oils to see what works best for you

Some instrustions here tho - http://www.audiovision.dk/Moerch/moerch2.htm

I have a pile of stuff that pushes out squiggly waveforms from smaller squiggly waveforms that sometimes come from 1's and 0's.
It's wonderful to behold as long as you don't let the magic smoke out.

Life is short! Enjoy the music while it plays, when it stops, there might be a chair for you...or  maybe not.

Make sure that the arm wand that you have is suitable for the cartridge that you have or am going to get.

The Moerch is not my cup of tea as it has too many solder joints/connections between the cartridge clips and the RCA connectors.

I like Unipivots too as I am using a classic Magnepan Unitrac on my SL1200.

but the internal wiring is tefloned ultra pure silver,if that means anything as i have not used it yet. how's a graham 2.2?the cartridge i intend to get is a very good match to the dp 6 according to their literature.

I heard the DP-6 at a friend's place. I found the soundstage very open and spacious indeed but sorely lacking in flesh and body so I went for the Schroeder arm instead.

could it have been a case of system mismatch?an inappropriate phonostage, cables or cartridge?

One tip for all those using unipivots... When you measure the VTF with your VTF gauge, make sure you measure the VTF as close to your LP playing level as possible... if the difference is too great there will be a error with the VTF settings... for me I take the TT mat off when measuring the VTF ... sort of gets it to the correct height.  Happy Spinning !

It seem your have done some homework with matching your hyperspace deck with DP-6 and with the incisive nature of the 17D3 this should make a interesting combo but I would advice against going dry with a cart such as 17D3 as it may sound too honest for most folks, just inject 0.1ml at a time and listen for a couple of days before decided to add again.

Remember to try to place the weighs as close to the arm bearing as possible as it sound better that way.

With their range of normal armwand it can be a challenge for most people to do a perfect overhang as the cartridge is resting against a narrow tube with the arm lifter in a crucifix arrangement( look from the top) but with the square profile  that your cartridge has, you should have a easier time with the alignment.

Just focus your eye more on the straight of your cartridge as the shiny J-wand can play tricks with your eyes and get a bright LED light I am sure that will come in handy and happy spinning. 8)
