Wow! Joamonte got Harbeths  ;D Bro, kena killed by your upgraded Coltranes for sure. Last loved mini-monitors when my setup was next to my bed in a tight corner. Sweet is d word! Nowadays, as far as I'm concerned, mini-monitors are best for vocals with light instruments or listening to news broadcast in a small room  ;D
I buy hifi to suit my music, not buy music to suit my hifi.

Wow, glad to see a Harbeth thread here. Greetings to all Harbethians here. Kudos to CBT for starting this thread. Even more surprised that Joamonte has a pair of Harbeth LS-3/5A.....haha....Well, with Harbeth, its music all the way!

Harbeth & LFD = Musical bliss to the max!
Something of a spiritual bond can arise between a Harbeth owner and the Harbeth owned

Imho, while the vintage Harbeth perform bettter with some music, the new model can handle very modern & fast music. They are more balance sounding with the right amount of lows. But with the limitation of it's size, it don't have enough punchiness to handle heavy rock type of music.
Dynamics are the essence of how well you can feel the emotions and sentiments from the maestros and what they are trying to propose.
