Love will tear us apart is an iconic song, even though it is not even one of my fave JD songs

yeah i got both the vinyl and cd reissues but i did not really A/B with the older cds & records cos time is at a premium these days. i remember i used to have the Unknown Pleasures cassette tape which mixed up side A & B, which meant the cassette started with She's lost control, and so, for many many years i got the tracklist wrong. but i do remember the Closer vinyl reissue sounding excellent. in my mind, i still think the side B of Closer is the most perfect side B of any album i know. the four songs on side B are all perfect songs.

Haha unlike most of my comtemporaries, I think Closer edges out UP. I suppose u think so too.

i think Closer is a more cohesive collection of songs, while the tracklist on Unknown Pleasures does not flow as well. i also always found it hard to sit through I Remember Nothing. on Closer, side B is astounding, and Peter Hook's bass playing and Ian Curtis' vocals/words on 24 HOURS really made me Listen to songs. But of course, the Unknown Pleasures sleeve is better.

Now that u mention, I actually have that exact JD 7inch single Love Will Tear Us Apart.
I bought it many years ago in HK, brand new. The wrapper is still on. LOL
The Rhino reissues are not too bad, but I only bought Closer cos of the songs.
Though Unknown Pleasures is a must! Next on my list, among many others. haha
