Received 9 LPs in the mail today  ;D

Some mainstream stuff - Massive Attack, The XX. Wow...The XX really sounds awesome on vinyl. The bass and the guitar reverb on the "Intro" track really fills the room.

The new Spiritual Beggars LP (just out last week in Europe), The Sword (clear vinyl) and Witchery's new LP. Great new release by Witchery - can't go wrong when you have Patrick Jensen (At The Gates' guitarist) churning out tons of awesome thrash metal riffs to fill the album! What surprised me was that Legion (Marduk's vocalist) is now handling vocal duties, giving Witchery an overall more aggressive and extreme edge.

Some black metal from Deathspell Omega (Si Monumentum Requires, Circumspice just re-released by Norma Evangelium Diaboli - get it quick before it goes out of print again!), and also Deathspell Omega / S.V.E.S.T split LP.

And this has to be my album of the month - Teitanblood's Seven Chalices. 2LP. Another excellent release by Norma  Evangelium Diaboli. Damn, I didn't know music could sound so evil. To quote a review..."Seven Chalices" sounds like it was recorded in Hell and produced by an eldritch beast that killed Lucifer and carved a throne out of the Devil’s corpse in order to rule over all damnation, and said beast has 12000 screaming heads.... - a spot-on review. Extreme metal fans have to give this a listen...

The XX album is of my favorites this year. The Intro is great track for testing hifi and headphones. I know this is e lamest question here but I have it on CD. Does it sound even better on Vinyl?  I used to get LPs when I was in Secondary school and with the coming with CDs, I gave up on the hobby

Bro, I have the CD too, and like you, I have been using the Intro track to audition for speakers and headphones. It definitely sounds better on vinyl. The bass has more depth and roundness to it, and as guitar sounds warmer, while retaining all the transients.

Thanks for e reply. It's just too expensive to get back into LPs. I have a lot of 80s stuff on LPs and I do remember the bass being deeper and the sounds do feel more 'real' like. Nowadays, my hifi budget has shifted to Blu rays.

Totally agreed with this one. I got The XX on vinyl as well.
Not only the Intro sounds damn good, and good for auditioning speakers or turntables.
Other songs sound real good. Songs like, Crystalised, Heart Skipped A Beat and VCR.
I love how the guitar strings sound in this record. Brilliant.

Bro, your music getting darker and evil. You are indeed the Prince of Darkness.
No doubt. I see Teitanblood cover I also scare.
I have said this, but I wanna said it again. I need to go your place and check out your collection soon.

No wonder they looked so familiar  ;D
U should do a photo shot of the vinyl itself...
grey, blue, orange., traditional black...
