HDpack carries many decoders. Which did you use ? You need to specify which decoder to use in MPC otherwise it will just use the internal decoders.

Try this, during  playback, right click and choose "Filters". Let us know which decoder is being used for video.

Did you try to play the file from your internal hdd instead?

yes, still the same problem.

but the USB bandwidth would be more than adequate to stream HD contents without any
bottleneck.

i specified the "avc" codec as the preferred one.

Have you checked which video decoder is running during playback ?

even if i'm using arcsoft's decoder with the DXVA seen in mpc, the Lia file still cannot be played.

cpu processing is even higher at nearly 100%!

playing back another profile 5 file using the same settings work only partially- this time DXVA is really engaged (cpu processing <20%) but the picture is blocky every now and then, enjoying it is impossible.

wow lau, so hard to get a setting that works.

sometimes i read in forums people are saying they can play 1080p file just by using a Pentium4 3.0ghz with a video card!

unbelievable from my experience.

and i'm talking about the video aspect only! for the Lia file, can't get the 5.1 audio out.

really appreciate if someone with similar experience to share their settings.

thanks.

ati cards are known to have problems with some L5.1 files. esp those with high ref frames.

Nvidia cards are more forgiving.

i guess u just have to stop torturing yourself with those high spec files and enjoy whatever other "normal" hd content that u have.
