i would say the emotiva cables ( X series ) are worth buying , although mine not burn in yet , the sound is very smooth and not a hinge of brightness ,just musical .will improve further once burn in So those with Emotiva products may want to give them a try . ;D

is that xlr cables?  thinking of getting 5m pair...  realised the 2m just too short for me.  :(  no time to run in the cable, not sure should i invest further...

wps

I have had no issue with paypal over the years and same for several purchases from Emotiva gear as of late
I have a pile of stuff that pushes out squiggly waveforms from smaller squiggly waveforms that sometimes come from 1's and 0's.
It's wonderful to behold as long as you don't let the magic smoke out.

Life is short! Enjoy the music while it plays, when it stops, there might be a chair for you...or  maybe not.

Mine are:
  • XPA-5
  • ERC-1
  • USP-1
  • ERD-1

Same as louco73, it's either UMC-1 or XMC-1.

Significant differences for UMC-1 and XMC-1 are that UMC-1 has no phono stage not XLR outputs...oh and the UMC is in production and the XMC-1 could be many months away... maybe later 2010 that earlier

I'm thinking of going into XLR since XPA-5 and ERC-1 have XLR inputs and outputs respectively. However, USP-1 has no XLR inputs which I would need to terminate interconnects with RCA and XLR connectors.

Hopefully after UMC-1 has been released, XMC-1 would be released shortly. But I guess, it would be another long wait for XMC-1 just like UMC-1.

Yes but $3-400 odd each way shipping is a hard ask for a 30 day trial, plus the GST! I assume you would get 2 of them

I'd offer to have you over to try mine but one of them is not working at full volume.

If you have a preamp with XLR outputs and balance control, you're welcome to pop over. I have a cheapo cd player and Focal speakers.
