My redbook CDP recently kaput. Considering a CD/SACD player. But the RRP for SA10 should be in region of S$10K?!
Or whether I should just get a "decent" CD player (likes of Marantz, Cambridge, NAD, Arcam, Rotel) as I still have a library of CDs.
Thinking aloud - I haven't ripped any CDs before.....yet....perhaps I should just get a DAC/NAS instead?

get the Nad M5 SACD/CD Player..
one bro is selling it now..
it retailed for more than 3K RRP when it was launched.
i think he is selling it in the region of 1k?
XLR OUT's..
much better than any Marantz i have heard...
only thing u gotta worry about is the super screwed support from LenBrook,(the dealer for Nad products in singapore)
if anything goes wrong, they won't even touch the machine!
trust me, cause i have gone through their useless support line..
i say i bought a new len's from eBay, n ask them to install, also cannot..
willing to pay for that service also no use..
so Lenbrook, if u reading this, get your act together, because its still a premium Nad product i bought n lost hope because of u BUGGERS!!
USELESS BUNCH OF PEOPLE WITH NO SUPPORT!!!!!
USUAL SINGAPORE STYLE OF REPLY!!
NO NEED TO GUESS MUCH!
PLS READ PROPERLY INTO MY THREAD, ITS A 2ND HAND UNIT WHICH I WAS VERY MUCH WILLING TO PAY FOR WHATEVER SERVICE U COULD HAVE DONE!

The Marantz REFERENCE series is a totally different kettle of fish from the standard range.

Gulp. Poor aftersales or non existant basic dealer support would totally disqualify a brand for me. Why bother... so many other BrandS to choose from. Atas and sneaky dealers too...immediate store boycott for future purchases UND instant brand disqualification. Achtung!

Not everyone is willing to pay for this.
Service and support costs money..
Anyhow, the regular range vs the Reference Series from Marantz are quite different in feel, cost and quality..

If out of warranty ... or violation of warranty conditions ... of coz must pay. I Guess some/any  assistance would be most helpful and appreciated.  :)

Pricing in US is already out!

SA10 is US$6,999. I guess it costing more than 10k locally is a possibility, if they decide to bring it in.

Hello
Cds today is about best data retrieval  and a dac
And i think that in terms of data retreval , metronome technology and cyrus are very good
DACs are the new equalizers of hifi today , and loads of them are flooding the market
The best one I've heard is in the DIY market called : DDDAC NOS 1794
Then if you add the price of a metronome cd player or cyrus cdXT signature , with a DDDDAC : it will be less expensive surely
Will it better the marantz .. I don't know , but the thought of having a listen is compulsory
I'll let you know if I have a chance ...
Despite all that , I love the marantz sound .. but for 6000 dollars ..loads of high end cd players sit for the competition : Esotericsd , Metronome , DCS ...

Jay audio just delivered SA-10. It's miles ahead of Sa-11s3 which was installed in my setup previously.
