That's why it's important to volume match before any comparisons of sound quality.

I haven't used the Marantz link sorry... but there are two sockets, one in and the other out, the manual will tell you which one to use... one of them won't work... cheers

Is AIFF supported in NA11S1 for NAS and USB memory playback?

The other way around… OUT from PM to IN on NA (and set to switch to EXT)

Via Ethernet, the NA-11S1 handles WAV, lossless codecs FLAC (up to 192kHz) and ALAC (up to 96kHz), as well as lossy codecs WMA, AAC, and MP3. The AIFF format is not specified as a supported format via network, but can be played via the rear USB input. The unit also features access to internet radio, Pandora, Spotify, and Sirius XM.

Strange, their lower end model NA8005 can support AIFF in NAS and front USB, but the reference model NA11S1 can't

The NA 8005 is newer.
My Denon 7200 also supports more formats and you can use itunes to control the volume during Airplay. You can't do that with the NA 11. But with network control and a PM 11 S3, you can still adjust the volume from your seat at the computer. Less elegant, but it works.

The reason i asked this is because most of my Cds were ripped in AIFF format. Wow u have a PM11S3!

The PM 11 is a natural partner for the NA11, good synergy. You should audition both of them, Jay Audio should have them. Cheers

Anyone tried Vibrapod under their Marantz CD player or Amp?  Does it work?

I am wondering as Marantz player are so heavily built.

I use the heavier ones, I don't know if it makes a difference, but I use them with my NA 11.
I just put my 28kg PM 11 on the shelf. IMHO, I don't think that one will really benefit from cones / feets.

I am using Unicones made of wood under my Marantz CD7 and NA11S1. Unicone does make the CD7 sound more transparent and faster.  However, I have not tried the difference for the NA11S1, too lazy to try.  I've tried Goldmund cones and it has a similar effect although the Goldmund cones make the sound drier and more clinical.

I believe with good footers under any components is beta than without although it's sitting on a shelf instead of a proper sturdy hifi rack.

My experience is with my Dynaudio Contour 1.3SE used to sit directly on the shelf inside a custom made TV console. Music was very much affected due to the vibration of speaker cabinets on the shelf. After I placed Jade Audio IsoDuo footers underneath the speakers the music improves tremendously and enjoyable. Of cos the result will be beta on a good speaker stands or varies depending on the footers. There are many brands of tuning feet. Very good one also mediocre ones.

Now I'm using the mark2 version, IsoGen2 footers designed by Jay from Jay Audio with even beta result under all my components from laptop, HDD, speakers, CDP, DAC, pre, power amp & isolation boards.
