This is OT, but I tried it when I was looking at the Caspian, definitely a step below, and you should not get it.
Saw the KI Pearl combination at Alpha Audio (SLS branch) over the weekend. Sorry, did not ask the price as I only notice it when I stepped out of the shop.

I was there to ask about the Kandy K2 integrated amp, which is going for S$1.9k.  It caught my eye as I rarely come across an AV equipment that managed to garner awards from so many magazines -- What HiFi (5-stars), Hifi Choice (5-stars), Hi-Fi World (5 Globes), and HiFi News (Highly Commended). FYI, the amp comes with a back-lit learning remote and support HT bypass!

According to some folks in echoloft, the KI Pearl is in SG?
Anyone seen it and knows how much it costs?

Cheers

Saw the KI Pearl at Alpha Audio today and was quoted 2.8k for each component. Is it cheaper in Jay Audio?

Would anyone know if the amp can partner with my Dynaudio Focus 110 speakers nicely? Don't think this combination is very popular.

SA 8003 + Usher 520
Not a bad combo and you can achieve a pretty respectable CD based stereo system for <1.2k

I must add that my own 8003 is a mod version, but the Usher partners well with this.

You'll stand mighty proud. The Marantz PM5003 is a stunning achievement: an uncolored, revealing, well-built gem with more features than anyone could possibly ask for at the price. I'd almost go so far as to suggest that all well-heeled audiophiles buy one, just to create a benchmark in their minds for what's available for $450 from today's talented electronics designers. I plan to keep my sample around for a while, as I seek out other components to couple with it as candidates to be included in complete two-channel systems that are highly revealing and musical but that retail for a total of no more than $1000. That ought to keep you youts happy for a while.

Also getting a first showing at Munch was the NA7004 Network Audio Player. This ingenious device seamlessly bridges the world of hi-fi and new media. Whether music is stored on your PC or your iPhone, whether you want to listen to Last.fm, Napster or vTuner for internet radio, maybe even FM, DAB or DAB+, the NA7004 embraces it all. And, thanks to its use of Marantz proprietary audio output stage technology including HDAMs and power supplies, the NA7004 delivers the latest formats at audiophile quality. The NA7004 will become available in October 2010.

thanks for the effort in updating us.

Hmm, this KI Pearl Lite looks interesting, probably fill in the hole in between SA8003 and SA15S2?

UK retail price at GBP999 - hmm, going by the same price scaling for CD6003, SA8003, SA15S2 and etc between UK and Singapore, what do you think will be the likely price for this new babe when it is launched in Singapore?
