Beside the price, is there a difference between this and the US version?

Lobster only said it's probably region-free, nothing about free shipping.

Total £32.27 incl. shipping to SG.
Reported is region free.

The list price of £32.99 includes VAT (value-added tax, UK's equivalent of our GST), which today is 15% (used to be 17.5% until the financial crisis).  Shipments outside EU do not have to pay VAT, so this is removed, leaving £28.69 payable.  Shipping is £2.09 per shipment plus £1.49 per item, for £3.58.  Total is therefore £32.27, as Lobster said.  Which ironically is cheaper than the free-shipping price to within UK since VAT is included.

You should note this in relation to Amazon.co.uk, which is one of the very few UK online retailers that takes the trouble to deduct VAT from its list price when the purchase is non-EU.  Most websites don't bother and still charge it, some at least give you free worldwide shipping (which in reality you pay for out of the VAT they wrongly still charge), some add insult to injury and charge further for shipping.

(Please note, however, that books are VAT-free anyway in UK, so this does not apply to books -- the price you see is the price you still have to pay even though we're not in the EU.)

Nice find Lobster, I'm tempted to buy now...

You can see in amazon U.K. that the 3 blu-rays already released individually.

The following site states part 1 is region free:

http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=70533

Someone at blu-ray.com stated all 3 U.K blu-rays are region free. I reckon the boxset should be region free...

If this is based on the PAL DVD running time, it is possibly due to the 4% speedup issue that plagues ALL PAL movies.

If you remember.. movies are shot in 24fps.

For NTSC, some 3:2 trickery is down to bring 24 to 60 interlaced.

This maintains the "playing time" but causes 3:2 judder.

For PAL, they speed up 24 to 25fps (interlaced to 50i) so there is a 4% (1/25) speedup.

This causes music to out of tune (slightly...) and the movies to be slightly shorter.

Not sure if it is an issue for BluRays these days since we are all using 1080p24 as the source.

On the other hand, UK has had a habit of censoring stuff especially for violence. Blade was badly truncated.

PAL speedup should not be an issue any longer for hi def transfers on Blu-rays (not sure about legacy 480i material).  So it's probably censorship then.

Ultimatum PAL DVD
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bourne-Ultimatum-DVD-Matt-Damon/dp/B000IOM98Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1244106649&sr=8-1
running time: 111 minutes

Ultimatum NTSC DVD

running time: 116 minutes

The 4% speedup accounts for this difference.

Bourne Ultimatum BR

Running time: 102 minutes

THIS IS DODGY. It's a whole 9 minutes shorter than the DVD!!! But yet both are rated the same: 12.
