Wah.. didn't realise got some many Trekkies like me over here.  Me also waiting for the BR to come out as it's just too much hassle to bring the young ones along to the movie theatre unless it's content agrees with them.  In the meantime, have been busy re-living the Trek Movies again.  Just finished watching Search for Spock over the weekend.  ;D

Come tomorrow we will have the six Star Treks motion pictures released on Blu-Ray.  Despite the many complaints over the non-remastering of the entire collection, I believe I will order the boxset anyway.

How come you are watching Star trek movies while all of us have to wait till tomorrow?

Watching this new instalment has made me a bit nostalgic. Gonna start off on the TOS HD where I last left off..  then move off to the movies.

Audio, there are other *ahem* sources for HD versions of the movies. That's where you would need the other "popcorn" hehe

ps IIRC I have never seen any Digital screens at Vivo City. I watched Transformers and rewatched Episode III there and it was such a bad experience, I swear I'd never go back there again.

Heheh.. Klingons of a feather flock together  ;D

Actually I'm deliberating whether to get the set now or wait for them to release a super duper bundle which combines all released Trek films including the latest one.  Already wondering what to do with my Trek DVD's.  :(

The more funny one (a classic joke)

Do you know what Star Trek & toilet paper have in common?
They both circle Uranus and search for Klingons

This is one of the best StarTrek movie I have watched.

What I like :

1. How the team is formed
2. The beginning for the friendship with Kirk and Spock
3. The action packed is well balanced with the thinking side of movie

What I didn't like :

1. The wooden action of some of the actors like the Doctor
2. The storyline involving time travel.. this was what killed the ST series firstly
3. How can Kirk be made the captain of the flagship so fast since Enterprise is the most important starship in existence.
4. Too many loopholes in the story line.

Would I get the Blueray when it is out? ABSOLUTELY!

That's what I thought as well. Was asking myself plenty of questions during the show.

But overall still an enjoyable show nonetheless.

Guess you have to remember this is a reboot ;)

So this isnt your father's Kirk and Spock hehe

As for time travel... well, it's part of ST canon by now (Voyage Home/First Contact anyone?). But this is IIRC the first time the canon has changed because of time travel. In the past, the "continuum" wasn't disrupted.

I thot Karl Urban did a semi decent channeling of Kelley (with more buff!)

That's an understatement: I thought Urban was very good, really.  Odd, I hardly expected warrior Eomer from LOTR to play doctor convincingly, but he did.
There is no dark side of the moon really.  Matter of fact, it's all dark.

a. Doom
b. the Viking/Red Indian movie (Pathfinder?)

the scene where kirk and spock are both beamed onto the romulan spacecraft and ended up in a fiery shootout is definitely my new audio test scene.

though i did enjoy the movie, i feel that spock and uhura kissing just doesnt seem right especially when spock has always been portrayed to be outwardly emotionless. To me it is quite illogical ;D. but my god with Zoƫ Saldana as Uhura, she is hotter than an overheating onkyo amp

What a great movie! Even my wife who has never watched any STs before enjoyed it. Wonder if they will re-do the ST series again? The original series in the 70s really didn't quite fly (even with the first few movies) until ST TNG came on in the 90s, where new fans becomes more curious about ST's earlier generation.

Btw, alittle OT here - any Babylon 5 fans here?  ;D
