Perhaps the Canadians had been living in large areas,
that, when they design their product they thought of "cool interior climate" as well...

...when compared to the closely priced Denon x4500H, you see how the Japs lives in confined space  ;D

I did that but what are you looking for?
Better stereo? Better HT?
How many channels do you use?
The 7200 is a fine amp. I also used the sr7010 - liked that better than the 7200. Different sound

Hi. If you intend to keep to just 5.1.2, why dont you consider the NAD or the Anthem for their Dirac and ARC?

Main Rig 7.2.4: BenQ TK800 / XY ALR Motorized Tab-Tensioned 92" / Denon X6200 / Sony X800 / KK 808 / Sony PS4 pro / HSU VTF 3 MK5 / KEF T205 with T101 wides / Orb Audio ceiling mounted Atmos

I haven't really have the time to fully test out this behemoth beast yet. Got from Alpha Audio yesterday afternoon during lunch hours. Went back, set it up and decided to utilise for the very first time - full 7.1.4 connections using the AVR alone.

My initial impression with the Audyssey calibration process is the new addition of the "height to ceiling" for Dolby Atmos enabled speakers setup. I don't see this feature in my last Denon - i.e. X7200WA. Setting it up is a cinch...I can't believe I'm using back Audyssey all over again :P

The "new" method of Audyssey Calibration
Granted, one of the reasons that intrigued me into getting this AVR is also to try out the Audyssey Multi-EQ Editor app (which cost nearly $30 bucks). Underwent one round of calibration using this neat app-based calibration. With this app, it do away the need to use a monitor/display to see the GUI during calibration. I'm using the iOS version (heard that you need to purchase separately if you intend to get one for Android version). What I realised is that after the 8 measurements, my iPhone gets really hot. It seems that there is a lot of constant connection to and fro from the AVR and my iPhone which can be a battery drainer one prolonged use. So remember to charge your phone before using this route. Is this better than my Anthem ARC calibration? I have to spend some time later today to test it out. But I am not holding my breadth for this as I still believed ARC sound is better than the Audyssey (which I have been using for the past 7 - 8 yrs). It appears that we are able to play with the Max EQ frequency range - so if you don't like Audyssey smooth out too much in the higher frequency range (up to 20KHz), you can finally change that to suit your taste for the first time - e.g. 200 - 250Hz (Schroeder Frequency). My ARC previously showed me that my crossover for the fronts are around 110Hz but Audyssey still can't seem to get the crossover right - putting it around 60Hz (is this the optimum crossover, I can never tell as there are a myriad of considerations - e.g. the rollover for both high frequency and the low frequency towards a certain range of the frequency band). I will do more testing before I decide whether to keep my Anthem MRX-720 or sell away this new Denon.

Hint: - Anthem MRX don't play well with my secondary display (a 4K monitor) which cause a slew of display issues. I recalled Denon X7200WA never ever give me any of that.

As usual, some pictures to drool over...

+1...You should really try out the Anthem ARC Genesis. It is "addictive" in terms of home theatre sound quality.

X7200WA was the previous flagship model before it was supplanted by X8500H. But don't commit yet as the price jump is too big at this point. I still paid a handsome sum of $4.6K for this beast. If you are only into 5.1.2, I really dun see the need for your to pay such a high price. This is more for those who hunger for more power and for those who believe more speakers are better but dun wish to spend on separate power amps to drive those extra speakers.

Anthem have removed many many features...For instance, there is no Airplay and Bluetooth (I overcame this by purchasing a separate bluetooth 5.0 dongle to do it). But if you looked past those, Anthem ARC really has the best home theater sound amp I have ever reviewed.

If Anthem is going to release the Gen-4 MRX series with ARC Genesis + bluetooth and Airplay features, I will probably go for it.

Another thing I have noticed using the X8500H, the input switching has a very "loud" click like something is gonna explode like that...this is something I really need to get use to it as my Anthem MRX-720 never has such a "loud" clicking sound whenever I do Input switching. I also don't recall X7200WA has such a "high db" clicking sound.
