Thanks for the info bro
I'm still on 2-1 coffees, because it's simple and fuss free
Having milk is important..
I like the 'flower' pattern coffee, and I wonder if it's realistic to ask for something like that?
Those barrista grade machines which need a lot of maintenance are a no no for me, but those that just give a black coffee out of a capsule are also a no no..
(there's some Picolo machine given out free right now for example)..

Has anyone tried the illy 7.1 offered by SPH?
What kind of capsules does it use, are they affordable and how's the maintenance for such a machine?

I used an Illy machine like that one for a few days (in a hotel) and it was fine, not noticeably different from my Nespresso at home in terms of results. It uses its own proprietary capsules. But one thing that is very noticeable is that the thing is built like a tank and very heavy. Dropping that handle/capsule holder part on your marble countertop could be very costly.

Already been to the show, but might go again tomorrow.

Tangs carries Illy - take a look on their website.

Hmm... just saw that the Comex Illy brochure says SPH Rewards - maybe you have to be a subscriber.

Hi guys,

Any recommendations for a mid-range espresso machine? I currently have a grinder already, brewing coffee with Aeropress. Feel like trying an espresso machine. Is Delonghi a decent brand? Breville?

These brands maybe consider low end..for midrange go to see highlander or fine coffee

no point asking brands etc without some budget in mind...Grinder is as important as machine. inconsistent grind you screwed already

I have a pile of stuff that pushes out squiggly waveforms from smaller squiggly waveforms that sometimes come from 1's and 0's.
It's wonderful to behold as long as you don't let the magic smoke out.

Life is short! Enjoy the music while it plays, when it stops, there might be a chair for you...or  maybe not.

$350 to $950 is a big range.

For a start can try this
