Consider your C1 to cost say another five thousand dollars more if they are using Esotar2... Then maybe you won't feel this way.. I also think that you won't spend SGD$16,000 for a pair of monitors right?? ;) It should not be the case cos if the Contour and Confidence series are using Esotar2 and the highs are on par with the Evidence and Consequence UE, people will just settle for the cheaper alternatives instead of buying the top notch series.

but C1 is using Esotar2 right??
it's totally fine if they stay on the current price... ;D
yeah...true...that's why i don't understand how come the Focal Diablo Utopia costs so much while the sound isn't worth that much i suppose....

There won't be new replacement models for the contour & confidence at the present moment.
Yes, some of the top range models are using the Esotars2 tweeters but the tweeters are all customized to each particular models xover, cabinets etc...so no doubt they are Esotar2 but they are different in sound. You can't use Temptation's esotar2 tweeter and fit it into C1, it won't work.

i see...thanks~~
i'm just curious if you've seen any white lacquer C1 at all??
mine will be in that finish which isn't very common, so wonder how they look...

Sorry, so far we don't have any customer who ordered the white lacquer before. I myself never see it. I've sold before rosewood in transparent lacquer, bird's eyes maple & piano black lacquer.

I am very curious to see how a white lacquer C1 looks like. Actually, I have not see any speaker with white finish.

Can post a picture when you receive it?

hate to barge in.. but have u heard the focal diablo and compared? :)
i guess then the whole focal utopia range is over-priced in ur opinion cos the scala is already much more expensive than the C2, not to mention maestro vs C4 and beyond. if so.. that's great savings for you!

i haven't heard the Diablo Utopia, neither the C1 i'm getting...  :P
well...monitor speakers costing that much is already judgemental for some customers...
i only read some posts suggesting that speakers slightly cheaper or in the same price range expose no overall disadvantage against Diablo Utopia, but of course, that's other people's opinion. plus i personally only interested in stand-mounted speakers, if i have the money, i'll definitely buy them just for the sake to hear the sound for myself. ;D

I suspect the real question is: will it match my white iPhone/iPod/iPad  ;)?

hello bro DJQ...
I will have to fly several hundred of miles just to hear them...
I currently own the Focus 140, with Simaudio I3.3, and really enjoy the sound...the cd player Raysonic CD128 is now the weakest chain in the set up...but it does look awesome~~ ;D
so I doubt the C1 will disappoint...especially in the muh bigger apartent I'm moving in soon. :P

since I do like the dynamic paring of Dynaudio and Simaudio, I'll stick with this combo, Simaudio P7+W7 for the C1...
still not sure about the CD player though, considering Marantz SA-7S1 or Accuphase DP-600 to add a little bit warmth and sweetness
or simply go for the Simaudio Andromeda to optimize the hi-fi performance...but it costs twice as much as the C1... :(

now this is something different. 300Watts to 4ohms, C1 will sing with this setup. sorry i am very much a watts person. but not any more. this Moon really got very impressive built quality.
