Another indication of his integrity-- I've never seen him dive in the box, unlike Drogba, Ronaldo and many others  ;)

SC, LOL. If indeed it was Tampines Rovers I would have flown back just for it.

Spunky, there is no logic when it comes to pricing for English players. Well except when we are selling...  :P

talking about crouch, people can pay GBP16.5M for darren bent who was not a england regular, no CL experience, with a small time club...and crouch at GBP15M (or was it 12M?) is considered expensive!! ::)

And people complain when Monsieur Wenger and Senor Benitez buy non-British players...

It's simply ridiculous, the price of British players, Darren Bent probably being the most extreme example. You either pay over the odds, or take risks with younger players that may or may not fulfill their potential, e.g. Wenger got burned with Franny Jeffers, jury is still out on Walcott.  And now there's Aaron Ramsey for 5M...
There is no dark side of the moon really.  Matter of fact, it's all dark.

Sing with me, now

to the tune of "The animals came in two by two"

His armband proved he was a red, TORRES, TORRES.
You`ll never walk alone it said, TORRES, TORRES.
We signed the lad from sunny Spain,
he`s got the ball, he`s scored again,
Fer-nan-do Torres the Liverpool number 9.

Rafa looking @ Robbie Keane

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has ruled out making a move for Spain striker David Villa but said Robbie Keane is still on the Reds' radar. Benitez, who has allowed striker Peter Crouch to join Portsmouth, had been linked with the Valencia player who top-scored at last month's Euro 2008 finals. 'I said the other day that Villa is one of the names we had on our list, but I can say at this moment that it is not an option for us,' Benitez told Liverpool's website. 'We know Villa is a very good player, we know the price and we know the players we have, so when you consider everything we decided he was one of the names but, at this moment, not our target.' However, Benitez confirmed that a move for Tottenham Hotspur's Ireland striker Robbie Keane was a possibility. 'Keane is one of the other names and OK we are still working with other names. We were in contact and we will see now,' he said.

better match than Villa? (he was always going to be overpriced anyways)
