Good eyes ! :)

Ya.. got an Apple remote... :)

I wonder what Apple will announce next week ... a touchscreen ipod ? :)

the 'touchscreen ipod' is the iphone...apple won't release a phone-less version until the iphone has been released (on jun 29) and is selling like hotcakes. which it will.

don't expect a phone-less touchscreen ipod until at least the end of the year, or possibly macworld expo in jan 2008.

Yo Pete

Shocking how good MP3 music can sound isn't it?

I've recently been deeply impressed by DAB played over my main system (Sunfire/Dynaudio combo) too.

Connect your Saggean radio to your Dared and let us know how DAB sounds, ok?

That will be hard, since it is mono and has no RCA out, only optical :)

The DDR 3 is best used in my study listening to in the background, room-filling sound.

:o Drat. Doesn't it have at least an headphone O/P? You can connect RCA with an adapter. If I'm not wrong, the headphone O/P should be in stereo although you have only one speaker.

My Pure Bug has all the connections - USB, audio O/P, SD Card  ;D
Do you think if I might be able to play the Bug direct from its USB O/P into the Dared's USB I/P? The Bug appears as a drive when connected to a PC.

I finally set up my hi fi room, the Ipod playing on the Dared in the background whilst setting up my room, air con etc has made it a lot more bearable in the heat.
As the sound warms up, the partner ship of the MA RS 1 and the Dared is a good one.
The RS 1 has a tighter bass, and makes up for the lack of deep bass by exerting a tighter control over the proceedings allowing more of the excellant mids that the MP 5 can generate show through. A veritable classic amp indeed :)

Hey pete,

I have it in my office... hooked up to a pair of Q acoustics 1010s... plays background music... but I find myself listening to the music and getting distracted instead of working :)

Rec using a proper iPod dock rather than the cable it came it. Made a big difference for me.
Listen to the music, not the equipment! :)

Glad you are enjoying it, I guess you didn't notice my picture in the Pioneer thread, I have an IPOD apple dock.

What cables are you guys connecting your ipod dock to the MP5?
Since the dock connection is for audio/video,
Can any normal stereo to RCA cable do the job if i only need the audio portion?

And is the audio connection to the MP5 consider as lineout(no amplification performed by ipod) or just stereo out(amplification provided by ipod)

Thanks

My apple dock gives a lineout, I use audioquest cables, but the nett yield is variable, considering what and how you compress your music.
I use lossless formats for the best music.

So, in short, I should have no problem using a stereo plug to RCA cable to connect from the IPOD dock to the MP5 right?
Thanks
