You can order this online directly from Japan. I used to have a pair. I feel the tech is kind of obsolete with only HDMI 1.4 and no support for new sound formats like Atmos. Also, there is no warranty or local support. My personal opinion is a pair of good stereo headphones will beat this Sony cans. There are a couple of models from Sennheiser too. Currently, I am just using a pair of Sony headphones connected to my TV via Bluetooth.

Bro Rayleh...
which Sennheiser you are referring to?

The RS series with docking station.

I bought this much earlier than the Sony MDR-HW700

Not impressive.  It works....but just for late night TV, not to disturb your sleeping partner perhaps.   Better stick with the Sony.

the Smyth A16 currently supports Dolby Atmos out of the box but it doesn't support DTS formats yet, including DTS-X. that should hopefully be fixed with a firmware update once they get the DTS certification. furthermore, the A16 is not widely available to the general public yet. about a few years ago, there were rumors that SLT would be the local distributor but I don't think that's the case anymore.

should you want to get it, you will be able to do so for the full retail price directly from Smyth - just contact them over Facebook. i've been using mine since August 2019 as a replacement for a soundbar setup and it's been quite amazing.

Go for these and you won’t go wrong....highly recommended  ;D

Creative was supposed to launch another SXFI product which was basically a box that allowed you to plug your HDMI sources into it. it was supposed to decode formats such as Dolby Surround as well as DTS. not sure why that product is not out in the market yet. I own the original SXFI amp as as well as the SXFI Air. i feel they work best with USB sources so if you want to replicate the big screen experience like what they do at Creative HQ, the connections are not straightfwd and just not worth the time and effort, in my opinion.

Personally, I feel the mobility of the SXFI outweighs the connection limitation! It’s always with me on my trips and so far, no problems encountered, touch wood :)

Thanks Francis. :) A while ago I was keen in the creative sxfi but heard the connectivity limitations to the HT system so kiv it until I forgotten ha..

Maybe now should revive this

How does the connection work if I play my movies usually thru BD player or media player ah... Using oppo 203 BD player and zidoo media player. Both with usb ports. Source is BD or HDD.
