Recommendation of Headphones for watching movies a
« on: April 23, 2020, 00:45 »
Hey guys.

Just shifted to a small home and no longer has luxury of space to put big speakers at home.

I love movies and would love to continue watching action movies without disturbing my family or baby at night.

Any recommendation for me?
Is there any headphone good for movies instead of gaming headphone able to cater to 7.1 dts dolby?
Wireless preferred possible?

Was googling and found alot of site recommending me gaming headset w mic...thats not what i m looking for.  :'(

Incidentally, I was searching for something similar and found this

But I don’t think it is available locally.

I did this while moving and when my speakers were packed up.

Smyth Research Realiser A8 - now replaces by Dolby Atmos DTS X Auro 3D compatible 16 channel version called A16

Hifiman HE6 with a headphone amp - stunning clarity and deep base.

Crowson Tactile Transducer to replace rumble from subwoofer

You really won’t miss your speakers

You could replace the HE6 with an easier to drive planar magnetic headphone that could be driven straight from the Smyth.

At the time, I was able to “record” my main stereo speakers and replicated them for surround and surround back channels but if you had a friend with a kick ass system, you could just bring the Smyth to his place and record his. They are also going to have a marketplace to purchase professional studio maps or swap maps with other users.

You can order this online directly from Japan. I used to have a pair. I feel the tech is kind of obsolete with only HDMI 1.4 and no support for new sound formats like Atmos. Also, there is no warranty or local support. My personal opinion is a pair of good stereo headphones will beat this Sony cans. There are a couple of models from Sennheiser too. Currently, I am just using a pair of Sony headphones connected to my TV via Bluetooth.

Can try this https://www.audeze.com/products/mobius .

And add this https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1382889335/woojer-edge-immersive-experience-that-lets-you-feel-sound;D

But if wanted the best , still have to wait for Smyth realiser A16 . And buy a good headphone to pair with it. Visit xtremeplace bros setup to copy their sound and soundstage .

I have personally tested Smyth realiser A8 , Creative sxfi and Audeze mobius. No where can match what Smyth realiser can do .

Creative Sxfi and Audeze Mobius more on PC, tablet and phone .

If using bluray player , get the Smyth realiser A16 .

I got 2 sets of the Sony MDR-HW700.  Works with Multichannel, HDMI, optical and it has an Analog input.

With Amazon, there is no reason why it is unavailable.  You probably get it delivered to you within the CB period.

I owned the Smyth Realizer A8.   Too steep learning curve, too much work to setup, etc etc.  It comes with a 4-digit price tag and headphone is not included.

THank you all Bros here for the recommendation!

Perhaps Sony MDR-HW700 will be easier for me since I do not have the luxury of time to learn about Smyth Realizer A8.
But Creative SXFI Theatre seems good too, not sure if it can be connected to a blu-ray or media player

You can but only stereo! I have the first gen and it’s connected to my laptop and stream to TV via mirror sharing! The latest gen can connect direct to TV but you have to find out more on the set up from Creative!

thanks Bro.

I read from creative website it cannot be plug into a blu ray player as its usb port is input type.

SXFI require an output usb port :(

Last time I saw it at Popular, it was connected to a laptop and the laptop connected to the TV. That’s the reason why I stick to the Bluetooth headphones.
