It really depends on what kind of connections you want equipped for your Progressive Scan DVD Player.

- Skyworth 1050P, 1050D, Nintaus 9769 (HDCD for 9769, DCDi chipset, with VGA out)
- Philips Q50, 962SA (SACD for 962SA, DCDi chipset, no VGA out)
- Samsung P708 (DCDi chipset, no VGA out, avail in HK only)
- Shinco 8700 (HDCD, Zoran chipset, with VGA out)
- Toshiba 5300A (HDCD, DVD-Audio, Zoran chipset, no VGA out)

Of cos', getting PAL progressive signals from the players is a definite plus. But as mentioned, your Progressive TV may need to support this type of signal. No problems if connected to plasma or projectors.

hi shi fu tripp,

thanks for showing my wantlist chart graphically. I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW.
My Seller's Pledge:
1) I do not entertain buyer's remorse.
2) I will never sell any known faulty items on the internet without informing in the advert.

If buyer is uneasy about buying used items from the net, then buy a used one with some warranty life left or new one from the store.

I believe that it is unethical to sell something that is faulty (but seller do have their limitations) in any forum and claim that it is 100% OK because I am a buyer myself.

Does the Shinco 8700 has a DTS/DD decoder built in ? I have a 5.1 input on my ancient Denon.

Cheers

Yes. i tested the shinco with my sony PROLOGIC amp using 5.1 input c'os no coax or optical connection. Sound OK for HT but bad for music. Sound muddy.
