For hobby.
Just normal laminated EI core with high grade isolation copper wire can withstand high volatge.

EI laminated core,C core,double C core,Hi B core,
Amorphous iron core etc...and more,they are all means for different usage and sound orientation.

You remind me of my Taiwanese tube guru friend. He's quite well known there commercially as well as in diy community.
200ma is good enough for a PSE GM70. Must be a real heavy mama. Lol
