I'm using the one from BD-MOD and it's working great! But so far I only had luck with 1219 as 1229 does not seem to work yet. But otherwise I would highly recommend the above mentioned jb.

Thanks bro Samkay. I had talked with the seller, any bro from xtremeplace who buy the jailbreak from him can quote my id to enjoy usd$5 discount. Lets me know if need any help. Cheers!

For the 1229, you can downgrade to 1219 to get the jailbreak. As mentioned to all here, version downgrade is available.

I recently changed my AVR and have to rewire my 105D.  In the past, I set the Oppo to Dual HDMI output, since I have a TV and a PJ. When I use the Dual output setting now, the new AVR (Yammy 2070) only gets a PCM signal from the Oppo (both Oppo outputs also same). Not able to get DTS or DD.  Only when I set to Split AV that I can get bitstream from Output 2.

In the past, my old Denon was able received bitstream from the Oppo in Dual setting. Any advice on how to get bitstream from the Dual setting?

Hi all!
I know this thread has been inactive for a while - I just signed up to this forum to reach out! I am a new owner of an Oppo BDP-105D (European model), and I made that decision because I read here about CFWs that can unlock SACD-R playback, among other things. I am reading through this topic as much as I can, sorry if I might still ask newbie questions.
So... I read a lot of differing info about the firmwares. Is there any FREE one I could try, or is the only way to buy a CFW from somewhere?

Thanks a lot!
Dom

hi

anyone has streaming issues on Oppo 103D Netflix app?

I start the movie and the loading is very slow and when the movie start I cant even get FHD. Video speed is under 1 Mbps. Then it will slowly creep up in 15mins time to 1080p

This is on ethernet cabling.

Thx

i think the netflix app could be outdated on the Oppo 105D. if you plug in a media streamer to the Oppo, via the HDMI input, you can still take advantage of the Oppo's audio/ video capabilities while watching Netflix. this is what I am currently doing with mine.

Seems to me it could be a localised bandwidth issue.  I use my 105 as Netflix player mostly these days as the transport isn't working.  Sometimes it takes a while to load up, esp at what might be "peak hours", e.g. 8-10pm on weekend nights. Otherwise I don't have as bad a problem as you, 15mins to reach full HD; it's at most 30s or so until (I assume?) the stream has fully caught up with the buffer.

Separately, anyone got any leads on fixing a busted transport?

No issue for me on my 103D with Netflix, although slow bandwith results in the video streaming in SD mode. Usually pausing and waiting a minute or so fixes things. For spare parts, did you check with Sound Affairs ? I know they have a stockpile of parts for servicing.

Heh, I don't read XP often so didn't see the lead on Sound Affairs.  But doing my own research online, it appears the replacement laser/transport mechanism is a KEM-480AAA.  Readily available online at Aliexpress and even Amazon, as it turns out.  So I bought one, looked for more instructions on how to do the replacement, didn't find anything spot-on but the stuff was still reasonably helpful.

So this weekend I got ready for the project, and just as a "one last check", tried to spin some discs.  Whaddya know, it still works...

So while I'm not going to be trying to install the part any time soon (hopefully), if anyone else has a dead-ish 103 or 105, maybe the above info might be helpful.  For 93/95, the part is probably different, but no doubt a search on Aliexpress will tell you which part goes into 9x machines.  Or for that matter 8x machines.

In particular you'd want to read this, although this fellow replaced only the laser, and not the whole mechanism:-
