Set up for Tidal/Spotify listening
« on: July 05, 2019, 12:17 »
Hi all the experts. I was recently introduced to Tidal/Spotify using my android phone.  Since I have an old Rotel stereo integrated amplifier RA 930X I thought of getting a pair of speakers and a streamer for better sound.  By better sound I am restricted to a budget of $2000.
1.  Would it be a reasonable budget for a decent pair of speakers and a streamer.
2.  What are the speakers and streamer would you recommend.
3.  I am open to a completely new set up with a budget of $3,000 what would your set up be.
Thanks for your inputs

maybe look at a pair of KEF LS50W wireless - or the smaller LSX - Think these can be used to stream direct from your mobile.

https://international.kef.com/products/lsx or https://international.kef.com/products/ls50-wireless

They also have a non active model that can use with the Rotel if its working well....dont blindly trust old gear that's not been used for years.

Go to the Kef shop at Adelphi to audition.

I have a pile of stuff that pushes out squiggly waveforms from smaller squiggly waveforms that sometimes come from 1's and 0's.
It's wonderful to behold as long as you don't let the magic smoke out.

Life is short! Enjoy the music while it plays, when it stops, there might be a chair for you...or  maybe not.
