Sorry for flogging a dead horse, but doesn't the 1905 Singapore version not have the Zone 2 capability? That's what irritated me because I couldn't really rely on reviews written by US reviewers.

I'm very interested since like you I am limited by my shelf space to a dangerous 17 cm, and the Denon 1905 is the only one slim enough to fit, and is the one that I am seriously considering.
FYI, the lowest price I've been quoted as of end mid-Feb for the model has been $530, GST-inclusive. The rest may tell you stuff like almost sub-500 but it's without the GST.

I think you might have to choose between the surround back channel OR Zone 2 since the unit only has 7 power amps. Best ask Denon (number on the page above)

Hi there,

I recommend you to try the Denon 3802, 3803 etc.

The 3802 I own impressed me so much, a big and huge upgrade for me. Dynamics and sound so alive anr eal. You got to listen to prove it. I think they have 3805 now. Very very powerful series and able to drive my Sonus Faber speakers. ;)

Unfortunately, the 3805 costs almost 3X the 1905 and will probably not fit into the 17cm high shelf space... unless get a 2nd hand 3802 ($600-$700) and place the AVR some place else instead of the small shelf.

It is not advisable to place an AVR and not provided it with any breathing space as it can get really hot.

Seems that the 3802 is not as dynamic as the tube amp you used to own? :)

anyway, full range Sonus Fabers... Cremonas? External power amp will be an upgrade. Make it a tube one - I know 2 Cremona owners who use tube amps.
