Auralic Aries G1
« on: February 06, 2019, 09:57 »
I am looking at adding an Auralic Aries G1 to my system. I have a few Bluesound streamers which are quite good but not hi-end sound..IMHO.
Does anybody have experience with Auralic products...or equivalent components around $3k budget?

Thanks, and Gong Ci Fa Cai to all!

Perhaps can listen to Lumin's streamer.  Good value at that price point. Currenly using U1 mini which is very revealing. Beware of your pairing of dac though. Cheers.

Dynamics are the essence of how well you can feel the emotions and sentiments from the maestros and what they are trying to propose.

I used Auralic Aries Mini for many years now and recently upgraded to Aries G1. I must said in term of SQ, the Aries G1 is a big improvement. The thing I like about G1 is the big high res display that shows the album art, a study built chassis. There are factors such as built-in linear power supply, XMOS femto clock for the lowest jitter via USB output. In the software side, you can use SMB to access your NAS music library without resort to DLNA and MimicServer. I use it together with Holo Spring DAC and I highly recommend when you consider a separate streaming transport and DAC.

I got directly from Auralic US, shipping is free. I brought it for USD2199 last year before the price increased. This worked out around SGD3000.

Thanks for the info. I am also deliberating on the Lumin D2 but Lumin doesn't have built-in WiFi capability and my room doesn't have a router. I reckon the only option would be the Aries G1 to stream audio files from the room next door. Wondering if there is a noticeable difference in SQ between WiFi streaming and Ethernet cable on the Aries G1. Has anyone A/B between the Aries G1 and the Lumin D2 ?

Thanks

I will guess ethernet cable will be the best bet with stronger and stable signal, u can use google mesh(recommended) or use an extender in your room, then use the ethernet port, which I’m using now.

As oer auralic designer he strongly suggest to use 5ghz wifi than LAN for the best performance. For details can refer to auralic forum or their qq group (if you understand chinese)
