Attn Tascam Da3000 Owners - Assistance needed
« on: February 04, 2019, 07:46 »
I am using the Tascam (firmware 2.02) to record vinyls and this is what happened.

Recorded one song in 4 different formats. Transferred to my NAS thru my laptop. Can only play the first song (DSD 2.8) thru my Naim NDX. So I tot, maybe the DA-3000 does not allow the file format to be changed during a recording session so next round I recorded a number of tracks in the same format, WAV 24/192. The only settings I changed was the input volume. Cunt play any of the files. Next day, I format my sd card using the Tascam and recorded a few tracks, all same format. Same problem.

Am using an old HP Elite laptop, Win 7 I think. I have written to Tascam. What do u think could be the problem? Thanks!

I tried again, this time recorded two tracks at 24/96. Plays fine! So am wondering, is the issue wirh my Naim NDX? ???

Seems like it cunt play DSD 5.6 and 24/192

Update: Checked. The Naim is supposed to be able to play 24/192. So the problem must be my old laptop? Or the cheapo card reader?

Thank you, my fellow Prof cscbb fan bro! ;D

I recorded Wav 24/192, transferred file to my NAS, the NDX cunt play. So prof would conclude that must be my computer mediocre, or my brain mediocre bah  :'(

Your 24-192 WAV file is read from NAS or streamed from your notebook?

Is only 24-192 WAV you recorded not playing ?

What is your NAS ?

Maybe my NDX firmware not up to date? According to old review it did mot support 24/192 at that time. So far 24/96 and DSF 2.6 can play. My NAS is Synology DS218 play

It's very likely that you are having the old version of firmware on NDX.

I doubt it's NAS but disable Enable audio transcoding of DMA Compatibility in Media Server of your NAS if it's enabled.

Bro,

May I suggest you install Audacity software, and load the recorded 24/192 WAV file. It’s easy to check if the WAV file has music signal or is just silence.

This should be able to help you confirm if it’s a recorder problem or player problem.
