Philips 2019 TVs to have Dolby Vision !
« on: January 29, 2019, 10:56 »
So now Philips have announced their 2019 lineUp and they have added Dolby Vision to their top tier Oled & LCD/LED models. This is great news. It also has Android TV OS (much better than the ones on Sony, less buggy & faster).

Here is the full line Up:

Two big questions though:

1) Will these new Philips TV reach our shores ? I was told by a very reputable COURTS staff that Philips will be pulling out their TVs from our market from 2019, not sure how true this is, have to wait and see (Something to do with TP Vision streamlining their TV production & sales)

2) How long is Samsung going to play it tough & refuse to add Dolby Vision ?  ;D ;D ;D ;D
Sony, Panasonic, LG, Philips have all got DV now, Samsung is the only other big player without DV, wonder how long before they take the plunge. Fingers crossed LG & Sony add HDR10+ to their sets as well, its open source, no chip required (the SOC on their higher end models should be capable of HDR10+ right now with just the required firmware) so i hope they add it via firmware, that will be really sweet for us consumers, all top brands with both DV & HDR10+ ! ;)
