Any idea if partsconnexion pricing is reasonable? Might just order if pricing not too far from local store. Plan to buy about 20~30 pcs with slightly different values to try.
Thx for replying :)

Thx for the pointer. Great online store for DIY parts with good price. Unfortunately, it doesn't carry Mundorf lower end MKP caps.

Will place order by this week if can't find alternative source. Thx for your time. Happy New Year!!

Don’t overlook the importance of resistors on the XO,
you’ll be surprise in the ways it affects the timbre.

Plan to order the resistors to inductance-free type. Will parallel them to make up the original resistance. 20W rated Mundorf resistors cost 8x the price of 10W resistors https://www.partsconnexion.com/mundorf-mr10-series-10-watt-resistors.html

When I was upgrading & mucking around with the XO on my ML Odyssey, I tried a number of resistors namely Mills wire wound, Jantzen, Mundorf Supreme & Powetrons resistors. Ended up using mostly Powetrons & 1 Mundorf Supreme. Powertrons are very fast, grainless & transparent. Supreme have some emphasis towards the highs.
You’ve got to experiment to get the best sound as eash speaker is different. Mills are nice sounding but somewhat slow & is not that transparent but then again these findings are for my speakers.

I did a quick online search on Powertron resistor. They are much more expensive than the inductance-free Mundorf resistor. Can't justify for my budget Usher S520 speakers. Anyway, thank u very much for sharing  :)

with this statement... mundorf upgrade vs s520 is not worthwhile also...

I think different types of cap will produce more significant change in sound character than resistor. Mundorf M-caps are cheap, so no harm trying.

When I bought Powertrons they were only 60% of the cost of Mundorf Supreme. Perhaps you can try some
Caddocks which Parts Connexion have them for sale.

Decided to get Bennic FPP caps directly from Bennic Taiwan for my speaker Xover mod. Will fly out to Taiwan this week and return 2~3 weeks later. Will collect the caps from Bennic Taiwan Sales guy if the price is reasonable as compared to Mundorf MCAP. Let me know if anyone interested to get some for your DIY projects.
