JVC Home Theater Projector Complete Model List 2018, 2019

Thanks Jay for the info. Indeed JVC have a different way of naming their projectors due to the differentiation of Pro vs Consumer models even though the design and technology used are the same. If I recall correctly, warranty coverage is a bit different as well?

Is the UH1 the entry level DLP projector that JVC is selling? The Z1 is a beast featuring the ONLY native 4K resolution with laser light engine. But the newer true 4K albeit cheaper compared to the Z1 will be a better choice and value for money considering the True Tone mapping only featured in the NX series and not in the Z1. Though NX series comes with True Tone mapping, some of the initial impression or review from other website did not rave about this feature due to its light source limitation arising from the use of UHP lamp as opposed to laser.

I think there is a firmware update on the Z1 that will bring a lot of the processing from the new NX9 to the Z1

Oh really? Not surprise if it turned out to be true...customer who bought the Z1 (RS4500) will be pissed if it doesn't come with the auto tone mapping feature...since NX9 which priced lower than the RS4500 comes with it...Of course, the strength of RS4500 is the laser light engine. However if we look at RS4500's "elongated" chasis, it will be more rigid (less flexibility) when it comes to placement.

Obviously the Z1 won’t do everything. It can’t do 8K wobulation for instance.

But I remember reading that HDR10+ and auto tone mapping was going to happen

That's good to know...but man...that price is way too prohibitive! So how's your Sony 760ES holding up?

I have been playing with a Prototype Benq LK990 and that thing is really what HDR looks like

I was watching Man of Steel earlier today on the BenQ and now on the 760ES

The 760ES does some things better but with the HDR pop it is hard to argue with more lumens
