For the Black Panther 4k UHD movie playback, do you guys notice the subtitles is super white bright and distracted your viewing of the movie?

Just finished the Spiderman animation with my daughter on ATV. Indeed the bass is awesome, a good reference for bass heads.

+1...sadly the 4K version did not have the metadata for proper tone-mapping on display.

Another brilliant one is the Aquaman in 4K HDR. Fortunately this title by Warner Bros came with proper medadata for my JVC N7 to perform proper tone-mapping and incidentally this is the first title that I came across that requires no post tone-mapping been done...It is mastered around 1,500 nits with an average of 450 nits per frame.

@Desray,

How do you determine if the disc has proper tone mapping? Reason I am asking is that this disc's HDR seems dim on my PJ while the other 4K HDR is okay.

My display, the JVC N7 is able to pick up the HDR metadata (MaxCLL and NaxFALL: 1,000 nits/974 nits) and did a tone-mapping for it. I have chose the new Panny custom Basic Luminance (BL) curve on the UB-420. It did not look dim in my setup.

Mastered in 1,000 nits using P3 color filter. A stronger yellow hue presented on the bodyworks of Bumblebee.

Thanks for the share. My pj adds a filter to achieve 100% DCI-P3 hence the dimness. I have to remove the filter for this disc. Other 4Ks are okay.

That's correct...with a DCI-P3 filter added into the video chain, this movie will be dim. Select normal HDR (with DCI-P3 at around 70 - 80% gamut but you will get significantly much brighter picture) for this disc.

Just got my hands on this one, IMAX Atmos HDR-X , waiting to check it out this weekend... the picture quality was stunning in the cinema , the beach, underwater scenes, that dive with the lightning in the background and all the sea creatures following suit is beautiful... nicely shot

Love the picture quality in this one...

Yes, you will love it. Excellent tone mapping even for low luminance display like projector. It will show the very best in terms of HDR for all Oled TV owners with more brightness to play with.

Nice !!

Then I think I’ll bring this tekno HDR-x for the benQ demo, can’t wait. Hopefully it doesn’t disappoint , been waiting patiently for the right PJ

Definitely checking this out and probably a few times on the OLED to familiarise with the PQ, looks like reference material for video indeed

How is the Atmos sound track for this one ?
