Ok so what I've been up to... Well I removed the sponge panels from my ceiling.. and guess what.. the ceiling is filled with double tape residue

It was so bad that I gave up scraping.. and since I've not done any painting for my living room ceiling since after moved in, I just decide to coat a new paint over

Anti mold paint... 5 years gaurantee

1 weekend Saturday to finish all my ceiling

And all good as new for the new panels

So what else... My neighbor on top gave me a real good reason to remove my false ceiling along my little corridor... Water seapage!! So instead of calling people to remove, I decided to get my own hands dirty

My very sturdy ladder

Huge piece of false ceiling fell with just little pull.. well it is moist hence really easy to pull it off

My very handy tool... Oscillator tool!. I use it to cut the big chunk of false ceiling to smaller pieces before throwing it away.

So everything is down, it also solve rattling issue lol

Alas! The corridor looks like we've just shifted in, with new Ikea lights some more

Now while all these happening, my panels arrived.
Put up a few panels upon completed the corridor and painting tasks.. got complained from neighbor too noisy during drilling

So I went to all the floors, explaining to them I will be drilling a total of 164 holes to the ceiling for my panels.. and will only be doing weekdays between 1 to 5pm within 3 days.. so they generously agree for not complaining me to HDB lol

I can't drill all at once as I will need to aligned piece by piece to ensure each and every one fitted nicely. Slowly but surely

And so, it was completed yesterday.. definitely a sense of achievement here...

Today, I custom cut the last piece to allow it to snug in nicely to my top middle right Atmos speaker holder.. it will be up comes Monday noon and then it will be complete.

Up next, awaiting the arrival of my 4 x 12" stereo integrity subs driver to replace my existing front 10".. once it arrives, another DIY will begin..

That should be all for this year for now lol.. I can't wait to host members for listening and sharing session.. till then, pls take care amidst the covid 19 virus, once this pandemic is over or controlled, I'll definitely do open house

Take care and stay safe, and avoid crowded areas!

Thanks bro rayleh.. No bro, they are screwed into the ceiling. Don't use glue.. cfm regret if ever wanna change.

Each white piece (diffuser) is near 6kg, each grey piece (absorber) is near 3kg. Each diffuser have 8 holes, 2 at each corner, each absorber have 4 velcro, which the other end of the Velcro also screwed into the ceiling. It's sturdy, secure and definitely will not drop when bass drop lol

The panels all can be change to different colors.

I've also designed new absorber panels for my corridor.. pictures as below.. soon to be done ready to hang as well

Congrats Bro!!
I can appreciate the effort as I also rebuilt my ceiling panels and did the installation recently. I still use Maxbond glue as I don't want to drill so many. Done 42 out of 54 panels. Taking a break now while doing other project. A lot of effort but satisfying indeed.

Thanks bro!! I thought of glue. But one time use double side tape I scared already, blister on finger when running off the double side tape.. ... I reckon that if I ever wanna change ceiling design again, I'll just unscrew them... White cement over the holes and repaint them will be faster lol... Anyway, either glue or screw will work as long as they don't fall.

6kg over my head sure hospitalize

And yes! Great sense of accomplishment indeed! Even my wife says they look so much neater and better compared to last time.
