for me is using separate FHD player to play regular BDs lah... UHD is like modern "mini laserdisc" where no region coding is a major concern.

However, different individuals hv different "ideological" setups. Some goes separate gears for different purpose, some looks for minimalistic setups.

Everything I play these days are UHD discs.

Or streaming.

FWIW I had a region B locked Oppo 203 before and playing a number of Region A discs I imported from Amazon and they all played fine. I think most companies relaxed the region coding towards the end.

Same here DH. I fully agreed on your last few posts. After going into UHD, I never turn back to FHD.

Same here.  I have many FHD musicals and concerts which I won't double dip to get UHD.  Has anyone got a set from US?

I'm on the verge of placing an order from US. At this moment, Panasonic Singapore has not announcement on the UB-820 availability.

Bro Doggie, any "more" comments you like to make after using the UB820? especially the HDR Optimizer feature. Good, great?

New firmware available. Finally hitting the Info panel button twice can bring up the metadata details on the media disc itself (previously only available in UB-9000)

I’ve been using it at work with a Benq W1700. Gonna test it with the W2700 and W5700 next.

Definitely a lot of pop with the Benq W1700

Thanks for sharing. Never use it in your SONY VW760ES?

The main issue is that when I watch Netflix or Amazon Prime on the AppleTV, can’t use the HDR Optimizer. Maybe I’ll try the Panasonic app. But they were pretty dismal before.

I have been watching more of Amazon and Netflix.

Yes, both Youtube and the Netflix app will utilize the HDR Optimiser but I agreed with you that the built in apps is pretty dismal. I probably won't use it as well. LoL...Panasonic is like Pioneer, they don't really care about their user interface and their apps. If that is the case, they should be like Oppo - stick to what it does best - video and music...nothing else.

Is the Dolby Vision big still present on the built in apps?
