I have a pile of stuff that pushes out squiggly waveforms from smaller squiggly waveforms that sometimes come from 1's and 0's.
It's wonderful to behold as long as you don't let the magic smoke out.

Life is short! Enjoy the music while it plays, when it stops, there might be a chair for you...or  maybe not.

I'm thinking hard. They would be my first foray into Class D. Am using a Yaqin tube integrated (as a power amp) with the Emotiva BasX PT-100 pre, so the Class D will be a change.

Not saying Class D is bad. they are vastly different sounding compared to Class A/AB. now comparing to Tube, the most obvious difference would be you lose that warm soul feeling you always have.
so it depends on your expectations.

Thanks. I won't be selling off the Yaqin so quickly then. 3kg per channel! Boggles the mind!

I'm in touch with Emotiva to ship direct to Singapore. They are receptive, since it isn't yet available on Amazon, and I think the local distributor.

Received my mono blocks last week. I have to confess, just "out of the box" they almost went back into the box immediately! The sound was very poor...almost like a portable radio. I have been running them for a few days now listening and just random music playing. After 20 hours they became more mature and yesterday after about 30+ hours the quality starts kicking in with good recordings now sounding much better.
The only concern is that the only led died after a day but I actually prefer no lights...especially as this blue is a bit different from the DC-1.

What did they end up costing you shipped and landed with GST?

Switched to Deezer Hifi on the weekend and connected some proper XLR cables to see how good the PA1's really are. After 40+ hours these amps opened up nicely and I can recommend them. Are they worth S$1000....probably not if you see what is available on the 2nd hand market in Sing. I was just looking for something smaller to use in study, bedroom or man-cave and had the opportunity for the direct import  :)

After a while... when you open it up. You be surprised what's inside. And by replacing them you will get even better results.

picture courtesy from darko audio sharing the picture inside. its the same as what i will do for the UPA-1.
