Got it at sg$3.6K new set sony 85X9000F (3 years warranty) to be used in Thailand. I think its a worthwhile risk to send one over to my family (will honour warranty if you send it back for repairs). It is too good to miss. My stewart screen and panasonic projector setup have to go. Singapore prices are just nuts!

Drooling over the price. So good.

At this kind of price for an 85” TV, I will retire my old Epson projector and Stewart screen.

I will be keen to participate if someone is able to put together some kind of MO...

What to do when Sillyporeans are okay with paying over their heads for luxury items for as long as I can remember.  A case in point would be the fat profit margins luxury car distributors (ie. C&C, Performance Auto, Wearnes) are raking over here where the profit is up to 2 to 3 times the cost of bringing in the car.  The same applies to any TV in the >75 inch category being sold here.  A 77 inch LG C9 can be bought for S$12.3k in Japan compared to the rubbish price of S$17,999 being touted here.

The Z9D is finally out of stock - they cleared the last few at pretty decent prices..
Here's hoping OLEDs become cheap enough to allow the larger sizes to be available to the average home owner..
Right now, most HT enthusiasts own the 65" because the 77" is a huge leap in cost..

Per ronildoq on the OLED TV post, LG’s dedicated big screen (>75”) OLED factory will come online in the 1st half of 2022.

Hope my projector can last till then . Another 3 years. Also hopefully all the compatibility issues surrounding HDR, DV, etc. are resolved.

Heads up if u r getting your OLED or HDR TVs, look out for tone mapping feature , that’s an important feature, if someone does a review of the display panel, look at the ST2084 or EOTF tracking of the display.

I suppose hdmi 2.1 will be coming soon latest Jan 2020. If u plan to upgrade, wait for it, go for one that supports this, the dynamic HDR is very good, worth the wait in my opinion

Thanks bro
That’s one major reason I bought The z9d..
It’s almost 6k less
The last few sets were even cheaper
And the picture isn’t shabby at all
