I believe there is a new firmware released for Zappiti media player.

I ordered one unit of ONE 4k HDR from http://store.zappiti.com/en/ - it offers free shipping currently, VAT will be deducted too. Came after 1 week, fairly fast.

Thanks bro. Compared the price in the end seems like still Zappiti store slightly cheaper, in the end do the same as bro Tiktokape. Waiting my unit to be arrived.

I almost get the Zappiti if not for its non-support for MaxCLL and MaxFALL meta data from the Master display info. This is an important feature I look out (these days) for a 4K media player because of my JVC auto-tone mapping feature. So far, only nVidia Shield 4K TV supported 4K UHD rip that retains these meta data.

That's great info Des, regarding the nVidia shield TV, does it support master display meta data on 4K files with all the playback apps? For example does it do it with Kodi / SPMC?

Just realize you've mentioned this on the SATV thread, taking it there.....

Been using Zappiti for a month, can quite safely conclude it is better than Zidoo X9S which I have used for more than a year....

It is not cheap (more than double of the price I paid for X9S) but depend on whether you feel the quality improved is justified or not.

Now Zappitti just upgraded their output with new firmware, now full 4K, no more downscaling.   Picture really looking great!!

I have bought tons of media players.....this is the best and the one I stick to, most of the time.

Is this media player able to access media stored on a NAS, specifically Synology NAS?

If so, is this an out of the box function or additional software installation is required?

No issue to playback media in my Synology NAS. No need to install 3rd party software.

Thanks. I was reading the knowledge base and I was under the impression that you need to install the Zappiti Media Server software and there is specifically one for Synology NAS.
