The remote looks different too.

Probably paying more for the power supply, dual HDMI and gold plated connectors.

Yes...the remote is a full blown version but this can be easily replaced with a programmable universal remote controller. I think it also utilize the newer MagicPixel ver 2.5?

When did the problem all started since you mentioned that you have been using it w/o a hitch for the past few years? Which model is your Synology NAS and what is the DSM version?

Last month?
DS1815+
Not sure about the DSM.. need to check

I maybe biased...but I preferred to get from Amazon although you can order directly from Zappiti online webstore as mentioned by Bro Tikokape. Either way, won't go wrong.

The prices on the Zappiti site seem to be lower and include free shipping.

For me, amazon is hassle free. Even if dead on arrival (DOA), amazon can do refund. U ship direct and try. For an item that cost $400, I don't see why you should take the risk.

Any screw up in shipping and amazon will rectify by refunding the shipping cost. That is the kind of service level they demonstrate and the kind of expectations they want their logistic partner to fulfill. Imagine if you order from someone then the package is lost. Bang balls. I tried Taobao and Ezbuy and have vomited blood

No issue to order from Zappiti directly, it is legit as it is and able to activate the media player too. The brand is EU and also based in EU if I remember correctly. Personally, I prefers direct order so that I don’t need to dealt with PI set in other marketplaces. Mine came within 5 days via DHL. My friends also ordered directly through the website. Free shipping with exclusion of VAT, why not?

Amazon is just another marketplace in another currency with excellent CS support.

Re the Pro series media player, it is just a refreshment into 4K HDR with dual hdmi ports. I’m not hard nik on dual hdmi for media player, yes for BR player. Aside, I did try Zappiti with after-market LPS since I have a few around, it does make a difference. Choosing that versus the pro series, I rather go with former.

Thanks. Hmm... Price seems comparable

Amazon = US$299+$38 (shipping)
Direct = Euro299 (free shipping)

You forgot to deduct the VAT charge for direct purchase from Zapitti store..  After deduction it's only 249 Euros.

Been using Zappiti for a few years now with no issues... until now.
Dunno why recently my movies keep dropping with an error message telling me to check the permissions setting on my NAS (Synology). After trying to play a few times it will start to play again.. sometimes happens a few time during a movie, sometimes once and sometimes none at all. Weird and frustrating. Not sure if its because of the Zappiti or something else... kindof think its something else but no idea what.
How do you navigate to your NAS folders? Via Explorer from Zappiti or ? Did you ever inputted the user ID and password before?

Mine working fine.

Just had new firmware installed last night and yes, it asked for user name and password to my NAS after installation.  I use Explorer to link to my NAS.  It had managed to find all the devices connected to my network.

Can anyone who ordered recently advise the usual delivery lead time as I'm concerned that the order I place later may not arrive in time before my planned vacation next week.

For my order with Amazon, the lead time is about a week or so. Placed my order on 8 Jun...ETA this Wed (12 Jun) by FedEx although Amazon listed 17 Jun (Fri).

I have asked Zappiti about their delivery times and they also state about a week to Singapore.

You can order it when you are back in SG or a few days before you are back in SG if you have access to Internet. Otherwise, you can also order and direct it to your friend or other family’ place?
