MoneyFM 89.3 - the new radio station
« on: January 31, 2018, 20:01 »
Hey bros
Can you find this with your internet radio?
I can't see to locate it on my Marantz.
Yes I can listen ONLINE, but not on my internet radio?

Anyone else having difficulties?

Thanks

The new stations are not on TuneIn yet, which is where your Marantz might be getting the stations (my squeezebox does).

If your Marantz supports, you can try adding the webcast url manually. Get the url from Wikipedia page: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Money_FM_89.3

Just find that they don't have much in way of programming content, and recycle a lot of it.

I first noticed the trial broadcast SPH Money 89.3 FM in Jan while working on a vintage Jap receiver. Very strong reception with the short whip antenna recovered from my scrapped car hehe.  During the trial broadcast period, just loved the easy listening smooth Jazz they play all day long !! And owing to strong FM signal, the fullrange Jazz sound (Lee Ritenoir, FourPlay etc) was quite remarkable. But since official opening recently it's mostly news, talk shows and dialogues on money and business matters, serious matters but I'm grumbling now that nice easy Jazz is now mostly gone  >:(

I too loved their late night playlist, but annoyed with the damn LTA announcements every song or so. Why so frequent? Is there so much traffic at that late hour? I complained on their FB page, but they're still doing it.

Has anyone noticed, that CNA938 is no longer available on tunein?

93.8 is still available though I don't tuned it frequently. It has to compete against two very strong signals, 93.3 and 94.2.
Yes, on my vintage Pioneer receiver, 93.8 reception has deteriorated to unlistenable. Very degraded compared to previous experience. It now reads 2 out of 5 scale on the receiver's signal meter. Sound seems interfered badly being sandwiched by the two said stronger stations.
However 93.8 on my digital pocket radio (different tuning tech) still sound normal.
I guess CNA938 can easily rectify this technical issue if they want to. By increasing transmitter strength to benefit users of vintage radio sets.

Signal weaker, but no problem to receive over-air on both my car and digital tuner. Clarity good enough to discern good diction.
Caveat : I have direct line of sight with Bt Batok transmission tower. I have good over-air reception, but the curse is the strong signals cause havoc with my turntable with MC cartridge.

Thanks friends
I was talking about the station on Tunein..
I managed to get an answer from them, it was offline for a few days as they were doing some maintenance on their end. Cheers
My FTA signal is poor where I am, so I have to rely on the internet... it's clearer too..
