HDB void deck Table Tennis tables
« on: December 13, 2017, 23:46 »
Hi ,

Anyone knows of any HDB void deck with Table Tennis tables still  ?

Or where can we go play a game of table tennis ?

Best if around Tiong Bahru , else anywhere also can.

Thanks
Steve

Singapore wants to promote table tennis and yet, all these TT tables at HDB void deck disappear over the years. I was so shocked that the newly renovated west coast CC has removed table tennis facility, even though the tables are foldable.

the table at Sunset way HDB also gone of a few months back...dunno why...maybe I go ask at the HIP office.
I have a pile of stuff that pushes out squiggly waveforms from smaller squiggly waveforms that sometimes come from 1's and 0's.
It's wonderful to behold as long as you don't let the magic smoke out.

Life is short! Enjoy the music while it plays, when it stops, there might be a chair for you...or  maybe not.

Huge field next to the national stadium used hold like several soccer games and a few smaller scale ones  on weekends. The community spirit was good though most regulars know each other by the face only.
But all are there for the love of the game. Took that all away and it is now a paid only cricket venue.
Close to zero locals and for most of the time only few games are on.
High intelligence to bring in revenue, sub-zero wisdom for taking away priceless Kampong spirit.

I just contacted AMK Town Council. They said HDB has long removed those TT tables under their void decks due to abuse and obstruction. They suggested going to a community center or sports hall.

I'm a regular TT player of a TT interest group at West Coast CC on every Sunday. After the renovation, the hall is frequently booked for other events and many Sundays there were no TT sessions. The person-in-charge will update us in the group chat if there is any TT session. With effect from 2018, all players must pay and register to join the interest group.

Most CCs have a fixed day and time for TT sessions. Mostly there is a person-in-charge. Some in the afternoon and some in the evening. Bukit Merah and Henderson CC should have in the evening but need to check on which day.

Check with CC here in this link https://www.pa.gov.sg/our-network/community-clubs/locate-cc.
