Long time Synology user and Sony BDP S790.
Start media server function on nas and choose the folders on NAS for media server to access. The first time indexing and setup takes about 30 minutes to a few hours depending n size of folders.

Thereafter, go to Sony player and you can access via uPnP without password.

Hope it helps...Cheers Pete

If not familiar, just install video station and use the same IOS or Android application to choose the movie and select the sony player as target and push it out. Same way for audio using Audio Station.

For both, you still need to tell video station and audio station which folders your movies and audios are located first.

I plugged in my X800 a while ago. The tray cannot open. Have tried unplugging, switched off power to switch on again, pressed stop and eject at the same time, press power stop eject etc etc but it does not work. Just posted in Sony community forum  :(

Nope

Also tried this:

Turn off and unplug the Blu-ray player, wait 30 seconds.

Then press and hold the open/close button on the front of the player, plug the power supply cord back into the outlet, and release the button.

Also um tak.  :(

1. Power off your device.
2. Unplug the power cord or AC adapter.
3. Allow your device to remain without power for 30 seconds.
4. Press and hold the OPEN/CLOSE or EJECT Image button on the front panel of the disc player, then press the PLAY, EJECT, and STOP buttons on the remote control simultaneously.
IMPORTANT: For some Blu-ray Disc Home Theater models, it's necessary to press and hold the OPEN/CLOSE and PLAY buttons simultaneously, then plug the power cord back in. This step requires a second person's assistance.

5.Plug the power cord or AC adapter to a power outlet.
Note: This step requires a second person's assistance.

I just got my X800 a week ago.

The built quality is good. The picture and sound has improved from my previous blu ray player.

But I notice that when I play 4K UHD disc or Netflix 4K, once my Sony TV X85D detected the 4K signal, the screen colour turn a bit yellowish. Is there any setting to adjust for 4K? I have set the HDMI input to "enhanced" already.
