Don't waste time installing Netflix app on Zidoo. For YouTube, you can install the app file. Get one that allows 4K streaming which is usually used for Android TV.

By default the player doesn't have a Youtube app pre-installed and you can add it by either downloading the YouTube APK or directly from the Google Store. The player supports up to 4K playback in addition to playback of FullHD (1080p).

However it cant be said for NetFlix due to obvious DRM licensing issues which I commented in this thread regarding this player. However, you can still add Netflix by side downloading the Netflix apk file (Netflix-4.16-15172-release.apk) and watch it only in standard definition but not in HD and UltraHD.

Yes, there is problem displaying the Dolby Atmos demo disc menu on Zidoo while Egreat have no issue with that. So far, this is the ONLY title that cannot playback. Same goes for Zappiti in case you wonder.

Do take note that with Heights channels, DTS Virtual X will not work.

Please note that DTS Virtual:X only works with speaker configurations that do not contain any Height-, ceiling or Dolby Atmos speakers. If you have set up such a system, DTS Virtual:X will not be available as sound mode.

Due to the license agreement, Dolby prohibits to use any third party 3D virtualisation technology such as DTS Virtual:X with any Dolby source material. Therefore, if the input signal is Dolby Digital (1.0 to 5.1), Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD or Dolby Atmos, DTS Virtual:X cannot be selected as sound mode. You may set the set the source player to output a decoded Dolby signal (such as PCM or Multichannel PCM) - if possible - to use the DTS Virtual:X sound mode.

Just order from taobao. I think Z9S likely will cost around $220. X9S maybe around $180. Just whack Z9S

I played the same bluray ripped mkv (file stored in my NAS) from both mibox (using vlc player) and zidoo z9s using typical media player. I find the video using vlc player will lag and sometimes jam whereas zidoo play the movie smoothly.. Anyone know why like this?

because the vlc is not direct decoding it and uses CPU to decode it which is very intensive for old CPU that don't support the latest codecs or simply not using the right setting to tap into the right resource if you've a capable GPU.
