Prior to my OLED tv, I purchase a 4k display set from LG. Paid half the price, but they delivered a new set, Hours used 0. They later called to inform they have delivered the wrong set, a new set instead. Since they have mounted etc, they said ok, our mistake, keep it! I said Thank you ! Hahaha

That's good.

I had almost same experience with Samsung. Bought unopened display set from Harvey Norman. After 2days, it won't switch on. They replaced with brand new set.

anyone thinking to calibrate their OLED HDR tv? Can you share how you calibrate them? Chromapure? or the free version softwares around?

I am looking at Calman 2016 with the Spectracal C6 HDR meter to calibrate the tv using 3D/lightning lut. The Auto Calibration process is quite impressive. It also lets you calibrate Dolby Vision and SDR. So ill be testing this out to save various profiles from Oppo 203, Starhub Cable TV, Popcorn media player and YouTube streaming.

By the way, YouTube streaming supports HDR10 as well. Pretty amazing pic on YouTube!

Have you guys watched any of the videos from Vision Plus HDR 1000 ? Superb quality! All native BT2020, 10 bits, PQ ST. 2084,HEVC. Tons of quality HDR files.

Rogue One, Avatar, Civil War, all superb! Spiderman's costume in red with the web like black lines is like OMG.....

This Avatar one is at 5000 nits!!!  This is professional quality, not some cheapo upscale encoded data, here is a sneak peak. The Youtube version is just normal, the original full movie file is in HDR, the HDR logo lit up on the TV! Stunning! The Blacks on the Panther like creature is Super Duper Black!

If u manage to get a copy of the movie encoded by these guys in vision plus HDR, u will understand.

The YouTube link tells u how these files are eoncoded and the format and container being used

Ah. I see. The encoding. Fair enough.

Yea that's correct! Ahh I always can't seem to embed the file! Quite good the encoded material, professionally done. If u can, get hold of these type of files. Much better quality. This will demonstrate that 1080p HDR is better than 4k non HDR ....

About to get this model when the salesman told me LG no longer provide warranty coverage for burn marks for the new series.. In the user guide, it even warn users of the burn mark issues.. is it true?

LG has a built in setting called " pixel refresher" , otherwise known as image retention. It is mentioned in the user guide. That setting does the trick.
