Hope they will be available in black  8)
I have a pile of stuff that pushes out squiggly waveforms from smaller squiggly waveforms that sometimes come from 1's and 0's.
It's wonderful to behold as long as you don't let the magic smoke out.

Life is short! Enjoy the music while it plays, when it stops, there might be a chair for you...or  maybe not.

I hv tested d ares for perhaps 3 weeks now. D unit should hv burned-in pretty much. I am comparing it wt a tda1543 prototype discrete dac n a naim cd5 mk2. Gears used r a pair of atc scm11 wt bryston pre/pwr on a   vertical biamp configuration.

Serious analysis was done a week after i took ownership of ares.  First impression was very convincing. It nailed d other sources without much doubt. Not sure whether it was a fair comparison but naim cd5 would cost much more.

D immediate effect that struck me was d total quietness of d whole ambiance when d play button was pressed. That kind of very dark background has illuminated d whole spectrum of freq from d selection being played. One couldn't help but noticed d interplay of various instruments in an exceptionally stereo mode. I would described it as 'stereo more than stereo'.

D darkness did not at all interfere with d details of a number. It in fact enhanced d details in a warm n absolutely natural way. Your ears wouldn't bleed but would b thoroughly massaged.

No matter which cds u choose, ares consistently surprised me that most selections were recorded with care. Needless to say, audiophile recordings would be stunning.

All in all, ares has given a chance for 'd have nots' a taste of highend at a reasonable price. A very refine dac, good built n never short of input options. Needless to say, Alvin has opened up a window for us so called audiophile to b able to really enjoy music with technology rarely at this price range. Wonder, who will b d lucky one with terminator?

How is it compared to the  Vinshine Audio DAC since they are of the same price point?

bro, it's a demo tour. you will get to use the DAC in your own hifi setup for a few days. once done, pass it to the next person in the queue. that's the best way to home-trial a product  :)

I will do a comparison real soon. I'm flying to meet the manufacturer this weekend, also to lug back my long waited Terminator. Perfecto!  8)
