Thanks Alvin for the loan and hassle free delivery.  FYI the unit is brand new so need some burn in period.

Initial impression is positive. My reference is melco N1A with lumin A1.

First impression is this DAC sounds fast. The attack of music is good. Tight and punchy low and the mid is thick. IMO, the attack is better than lumin A1. For the price, I think is no brainer for those who wants to purchase a DAC.

Will reserve the impression of sound stage , depth and layering of presentation. Going to let the unit runs continously for few days before commending.

Another point is USB cable does matter. Using wireworld platinum starlight usb cable as compared to the stock usb cable brings substantial improvement.

Definitely worth an audition for those who want a DAC.

Nice of Alvin to offer trial. Would be very helpful to get some comments on SQ too. Would be particularly interested in whether SQ on a whole is in...Warm, neutral or cool camp.

Good morning. Thanks for support!  8)

I am considering to send two or three demo units to expedite the tour if the list grow bigger. So bros interested to listen don't have to wait for a long time queuing up. Dont want the tour to be like the Michelin Star hawker noodle stall (ok I give up to q, not practical to q for sure, the wait on the other day I was there was more than 3hrs, I was starving  ;D).

So here's the game, if the list hit 10, I will divide the list to odd and even number, another new demo unit will be sent to the first even number guy, fair hor? :)

p/s: first guy will hold it for 5days to allow some burn in time.

After >48 hours of running in. Had a longer listen to this DAC.

My setup is melco N1A--> wireworld platinum starlight usb--> vishine DAC
Usual setup is melco--> stock melco ethernet cable--> lumin A1

Compared to newly opened unit, the stage does open up. The signature would be warm as compared to lumin in my opinion.

Again, the presentation is punchy and plenty of bites. Good for pop, rap, R&B songs in my opinion. Good attack and I enjoy when I listen to these genre of songs.

If you are using usb interface, I would recommend to invest on quality audiophile usb cable. I get more transparent, lower noise level, better bass extension with wireworld usb cable as compared to the stock usb cable.

Sound stage opens up after running in, with improvement of depth. Lumin A1 streamer + DAC does have wider stage , more layering and holographic sounding.
Considering the price difference  (lumin A1 almost 4 times more expensive), one should expect better performance by lumin.

This DAC performs well above its price. I have heard worse performance in similar priced DAC, and even some more expensive DAC.

Overall it exceeds my expectation and this is a good buy for those looking for value for money DAC. Especially now having promotion for the loan program.

Going to pass to the next person, let's see what other bros think about this DAC.

Bro kimura,
Your rack is super neat!! How did you do it?

It's kind for Alvin to arrange loan unit. I bought it based on what I read on the diy forum and Alvin's quality assurance not how it sounds and to be honest it does sound good.

Enjoy the loan unit and happy new year.
